Massage, Myofascial Release & Reiki Anne-Claire Wilton
Ba(Hons), ITEC, CMT, CIMI

I was drawn to meditation and Reiki whilst studying Art at Goldsmiths in London. My exploration of the Body and Consciousness through painting and drawing, combined technical skill with intuition. This led me quite naturally into massage. I began by studying ITEC massage and Indian Head Chapissage in London, but wished to further my studies at The Scherer Institute of Natural Healing in Sante Fe, New Mexico, USA. This intensive (700hr) course taught in-depth and specific techniques with the underlying philosophy that Body is also Spirit. I went on to spend a couple years living out on the Navajo Rezervation in Northern Arizona, living with Traditional Dine (Navajo) Grandmothers, herding their sheep and giving massage. I was taught that our body's are reflections of Mother Earth, and that wellness/illness is a reflection of the natural and social worlds around us. Massage was considered 'ceremony'.

Since the birth of my son back in the UK, I saw the benefits of daily infant massage on his well-being and our relationship. I am now a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, and offer individual or group workshops. I also currently work with patients in palliative and end of life care in Sobell House, Churchill Hospital, Oxford.

Treatments

Swedish Holistic and Deep Tissue Massage
At eau-de-vie I offer the following treatments:

Nurturing Therapeutic Massage:

A variation of Swedish massage, using many warming, tonifying, stretching and relaxing techniques. I combine intuition with technique, using a sensitive and nurturing touch to find and release trigger points, enabling our body's to let go of pain and unwind tension, stress and strain.

Myofascial Release:

Fascia is the most pervasive and continuous soft tissue that runs throughout the body providing an infrastructure to give the body shape and form, both inside and out. Myofascial release works without oil, creating space for the body to move into greater alignment. This style is particularly beneficial when attending to specific injuries and postural patterns.

Oncology Massage:

The focus of this massage is to support the organ systems of cancer patients during and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy. A combination of gentle massage with Ayruvedic oils, specific acupressure points, from Traditional Chinese Medicine, and light-touch reflexology are used where appropriate.

Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master:
Reiki adds an energetic dimension to treatments, helping the body's innate healing process to take place.
