Acupuncture is an ancient system of Chinese Medicine. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body's motivating energy - known as qi - moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin.
The flow of qi can be disturbed by many physical, mental and emotional factors. By inserting very fine needles into the channels of energy, acupuncture can stimulate the body's own healing response and help to restore its natural balance.
Alongside traditional acupuncture, treatment incorporates Chinese massage, moxibustion and cupping therapy which she studied at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM). For more information on the CICM training see their website at http://www.acupuncturecollege.org.uk/.
Emily also practices Reiki. A subtle yet powerful system of healing which facilitates deep relaxation and can promote and support acupuncture treatment.
