About Ania

I studied acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading where I gained a first class BSc(hons) degree in 2008. My training brought together the profound ideas of yin-yang theory (using Traditional Chinese Medicine) and the Five Elements (using constitutional diagnosis). The universal qualities and phases of the Five Elements form the foundation of my treatment approach, drawing on the ancient wisdom that stems from observation of our natural world.

I am also an experienced bodywork practitioner. I studied holistic massage at the Academy of Natural Health in London in 2002, gaining a diploma from the International Therapy Examination Council as well as the Massage Training Institute. I have since trained in myofascial release and clinical massage techniques with JING, the UK’s foremost institute for advanced massage training. I have always felt drawn to work intuitively with my hands, using touch as a powerful tool to connect and nourish.

In 2015, I completed my diploma in Craniosacral Biodynamics at the Karuna Institute in Devon. I am inspired by the profound insight and healing that can emerge within the stillness of the craniosacral therapy process, opening up space for something deeper to be heard.

I am committed to on-going professional development and have undertaken various other post graduate courses, including study of treatments to support pregnancy and counselling skills. I enjoy supporting people through all life stages and transitions.

Before pursuing my career in alternative medicine, I obtained a BA(hons) in nursing and worked within specialist fields of children's surgery. Yoga has also been an important part of my life for over eighteen years. My yoga and meditation practice and my study with world-class teachers continue to inspire and inform my work with clients.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Craniosacral Therapy Association and the Massage Training Institute. I am bound by Codes of Ethics and Safe Practice and uses procedures approved by the Department of Health.

"Ania has a way of listening beyond words, so that you feel she is already begining to get a sense of you from the start. And her reaction is one of acceptance and compassion. For me this is what has unlocked everything: if we can feel understood even before we start speaking, then what follows is the truth, and having the space - and time - to tell our truth and be heard is healing enough. Ania reminds me that it's okay to slow down, to indulge a little, to give yourself the appraisal that you need." Gabriela, 36,Writer

Traditional Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of healing based on over 2,500 years of development and refinement in the Far East. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body's motivating energy - known as qi - moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin. The flow of qi can be disturbed by many physical, mental and emotional factors.

I will guide you through a thorough consultation, together with pulse diagnosis and assessment of your tongue. This alows me to identify your individual underlying patterns of disharmony and design a personalised treatment plan. Using this plan, I insert very fine needles to stimulate your body's own healing response, helping to restore a natural balance.

Clinical research continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture in treating a wide range of conditions. Acupuncture is as much about the maintenance of health as the management of disease, and the benefits frequently go beyond relieving one particular condition. Many people find that it can also lead to an enhanced sense of overall wellbeing and vitality.

"Ania's warm manner, thorough interview and listening skills and innate ability to accurately diagnose and treat all combine to create a comprehensive healing and balancing environment for the client. I would unhesitatingly recommend her acupuncture services." Shelly, 45, Massage Therapist

Holistic Bodywork
Holism from the Greek 'whole', invollves an understanding of you as an interconnected physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. I use a holistic approach to allow your body to release pain, tension and strain, settle emotions, balance energy flow and increase vitality.

During a pre-treatment consultation I listen to and help to clarify your individual needs. I then combine a range of strokes, pressures, movements and still holds to create a unique treatment for you. I use my hands and my presence to sensitively listen to your body and help you settle into calmness, bringing about a deep relaxation and sense of well-being.

Holistic bodywork can address acute pain and discomfort or long-standing problems, both physical and emotional. It can provide on-going support and space to reconnect with yourself amidst the changes and challenges that our busy lives bring.

"I have seen a wide range of different therapeutic massage therapists in Oxford over the past 10 years and Ania is by far the most effective in helping to relieve my chronic back problems and IBS symptoms. Her calm, listening manner, adeptness in a range of techniques, and warm, intuitive approach means every treatment is genuinely tailored to my needs. She applies strength and gentleness where necessary building on the work of previous sessions and gradually developing better resilience in my body. I always feel significantly restored and well cared for after a treatment with Ania and highly recommend her to anyone seeking not just relaxation but recovery and healing." Michelle, 43, Research Coordinator

Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is an extrememly gentle form of body therapy that supports the body's innate ability to balance and restore itself. During sessions you lie clothed on a treatment table and I use sensitive touch to feel tensions and subtle flows within your body, working with the underlying forces that facilitate health. Contact is usually made with the feet, head and base of the spine, and often with other areas too.

It is a deep form of listening to the body, allowing you to settle into calmness and balance. The subtle dialogue between me and your body helps to reorganise the effects of life's experiences, both physical and emotional, and encourages your body's innate resources. Treatments offer you a safe and accepting space to notice and attend to what's happening within you and find a point of stillness, well being and ease in your day-to-day life.

"Whatever issues I present with, be it body or emotional ache or pain, Ania's gentle and assured manner provides a still point from where my porblems can begin to resolve. Ania's non-judgemental acceptance and clear treatment protocols allow deep relaxation to occur, within which my body can begin to heal. I highly recommend Ania's craniosacral sessions to anyone wanting to experience a deep and profound restorative therapy." Joanna, 58, Yoga Teacher/Mother

"Ania has a healing touch. I feel completely calm and cherished and reprieved of those aches and pains that almost inevitably happen at my creaky age. an hour with Ania is a precious respite and a present to one's body." Martin, 74, Retired
